Every weekend I try to plan a “family outing”.  If I didn’t plan something, we’d probably stay inside the whole weekend on our computers!  Emily loves to go outside and we always notice such an amazing growth in her development when we expose her to something new.  So this weekend we went to the 100th Birthday Party Celebration of Blue Bell Ice Cream!  YUM!  Blue Bell is by far the BEST ice cream I’ve ever tasted!  So, we braved the rain and extreme Houston humidity after the rain and had a blast!  They gave out FREE ice cream on the grounds of Ima Hogg’s home at Bayou Bend and Gardens and had a little history exhibit and video inside a “chocolate” semi truck.  There was a band, facepainting, and we got to hike around her garden while we were there. We even got to go inside and peak at her beautiful home full of art and antiques.  And Emily LOVED the ice cream!

I highly recommend visiting Bayou Bend for a tour!  I’m definitly going to go back for the full tour during the week.

By the way, Blue Bell is having a giant “Day in the Country” in Brenham this weekend to celebrate, we might check that out too.  It looks like a lot of fun.  Check out the link for details.

Or, we might take Emily to her first CIRCUS!  Did you know it’s in town!  HOW FUN!  Ringling Brother’s Barnum and Bailey Circus is at Reliant Stadium this week!

After the trip to Bayou Bend, we had to stop at Fry’s Electronics.  I don’t know which place Emily had more fun!  She LOVED pushing the cart and playing with a Barbie video camera while her Daddy looked for a new cooling system for his computer.  She’s so expressive, check out that face!
