after baking lasgna in the oven for dinner…he opens the oven door to use the residual heat to warm the house…

I love his way of thinking…I know his motivation is to take care of his family…and that is all that matters.

I do this all the time! Of course, I live in a house with no heat other than the fire, and I *do* have a stairgate to stop my daughters from coming into the kitchen.
But once such safety measures are in place, I think your husband is eminently sensible: no sense in keeping all that useful heat stored up in the oven-box. Let it out!
Not so much “You know your husband is cheap when… ” as “You know your husband is environmentally friendly when… ”
